We ship worldwide from Australia. Because our parts are sourced and manufactured in several countries, import duty varies from item to item — this page explains how it works so there are no surprises.

Duty is based on where an item was made

Import duty is assessed on each item's country of manufacture, not on the country it ships from. Our range includes parts manufactured in the United States, Australia, China and Mexico, so a single order may attract different rates on different lines.

Every shipment is declared with full 10-digit tariff classification and country of origin, as required by customs authorities.

United States

Estimated import duty is calculated and displayed at checkout for your specific order. The amount shown is an estimate based on current rates; final assessment is made by US Customs and Border Protection.

US-manufactured items in our range — including Pacific Scientific stepper drives and MultiCam control boards — generally attract no import duty.

European Union

The EU removed its low-value duty exemption on 1 July 2026. All imported goods now attract duty and VAT.

For parcels valued under EUR 150, this is charged as VAT plus a flat customs duty fee of EUR 3 per item line. An "item" means goods sharing the same tariff code, description and country of origin — so an order containing four different parts attracts four separate EUR 3 fees, while four of the same part attracts one.

Ordering multiples of the same part is therefore more cost-efficient than a mixed basket of single items.

United Kingdom, Canada and Norway

Import duty and local tax apply to all shipments. These are payable by the recipient on or before delivery.

New Zealand and all other destinations

Import duty, GST or equivalent local taxes may apply depending on your country's rules and the value of your order.

Who pays

Unless stated otherwise on your invoice, prices shown exclude import duties, taxes and customs clearance fees. These are charged to the recipient by the carrier or customs authority and are not collected by us.

Carriers and customs brokers also apply their own clearance or handling fees. On smaller orders these fixed fees can exceed the duty itself.

Larger orders

Orders over 2 kg are quoted individually. Please contact us and we'll price the freight and provide an indicative landed cost before you commit.

Rates change

Import duty rates are set by governments and have changed several times in the past two years. The guidance above reflects rules in force at the date shown below. Please confirm current rates with your national customs authority or a customs broker before ordering if the amount is material to you.
